When it refers to the large family of the famous watch maker - Omega's watch creations, the popular Seamaster line could never be overlooked. This breitling watches line actually, is joined by the Seamaster Planet Ocean Liquidmetal timepiece, which is limited to 1948 pieces, with an aim to memorizing the year when the Seamaster line was established.
Looking from the appearance, the new timepiece seems have no big difference from previous versions. However, when you take a closer look, you will find the bezel of the model is really something. And that is the biggest glamorous point also the selling point of the model. The bezel itself is done in ceramic, while its numbers and scaling is showed off on liquidmetal alloy – a metallic material with a disordered, non-crystalline atomic structure. The Liquidmetal details just give off appealing silver glow that lighten up the whole bezel. And it is reported that, Liquidmetal alloy is three times harder than stainless steel what the 42mm case is crafted with, and therefore is especially resistant to scratching and corrosion.
Beneath the thick convex sapphire crystal with anti-reflective covering on both sides, there is a ceramic dial well fitting for the bezel. Thanks to the rich Superluminova employed on the hour indexes and hands, the dial stands out with distinctive legibility in places of poor lighting. Evidently, not a few improvements are done to make the dial more attractive with much better three-dementional design.
Ticking inside the timepiece is the Co-Axial calibre 2500 well-known for long-term chronometric performance. The movement with 42-hour power reserve features also not so many parts that are made up with ceramic and Liquidmetal alloy.
Benefit from the seamless structure consisted in stainless steel, ceramic and Liquidmetal alloy, the watch keeps a considerable water resistance to 600 meters. And it is secured to the wrist by a stainless bracelet which comes with the Omega dual-pushbutton folding clasp. Even though this new watch model looks, from the appearance, very the same as the old models, it reinterprets it in a quite delicate way expressively and successfully.
